YOGA VAIDYA ŚĀLĀ - Therapist Training Program
The whole program consists of six modules of study and 2 weeks internship.
The duration of each module is 9 days (3 long weekend)
Yoga Vaidya Śālā jointly with Yoga Therapy Egypt; offer unique Yoga therapy training program. It is an advanced course for all Yoga teachers from every tradition of Yoga. This course is an imperative adjuvant for all health professionals like Allopathic, Ayurvedic, Chinese, Siddha Physicians, Physio-therapists, Nurses, Massage therapists, Chiropractics, Occupational therapists, Psycho therapists, Acupuncture and Acupressure therapists and others.
It transforms all their healing endeavors into an individual specific and most comprehensive and wholesome one.
This course, for the first time in the history of yoga, presents Yoga therapy as it should be. The 6-modules program runs over 3 years, It elaborately deals with yogic anatomy, Yogic physiology, Yogic psychology, pathology according to modern science, Yogic methodology of examination and diagnosis, Yogic tools and its principles of application and so on.
Yoga therapy is a practical science and therefore the teaching methodology of this course is also entirely practice oriented and exactly following that of a medical college.
Yoga Vaidya Śālā invites all ardent and sincere seekers to delve deep into every facets of Yoga therapy directly under the guidance of Dr.N.Chandrasekaran, M.B.B.S., Viniyoga therapist Training Program is conducted in six modules, two modules in a year and session spanning for 3 weeks. This course is currently being conducted twice a year in France, London and Belgium, once every two years in Canada and every January in India.
What to learn:
MODULE - 2. Yogic anatomy, physiology, psychology and yogic methodology of examination
Forenoon theory sessions :
1. Living Anatomy – Panca Maya model as detailed in Taittiriya Upanisad
2. Practical Physiology - Panca Prana, Agni , Nadis, Cakra model.
3. Yogic Psychology – different parts of mind, different states of mind, and different activities of mind.
4. Manas, Buddhi, Ahamkara and Cittam
5. Vrtti, Smrti, Samskara, Svabhava, Vasana.
6. Klesa, Sad-urmi-s.
7. Duhkham, causes and manifestations
8. Goal in Yoga from the healing perspective
9. Yogic way of assessment of imbalance at anatomical, physiological and psychological level with practical study.
10. Yogic practices and techniques to balance them with practical study.
Afternoon workshop sessions :
Yogic methodology of arriving at the specific diagnosis (vyūham).
Vyūham in Yoga therapy as given by Patanjali: In depth study with reference to yoga cikitsa with suitable examples:
· Heyam - the problems for which a student seeks yoga therapy.
· Hetu - the cause for their problems.
· Hanam - the goal
· Upayam - the tools that has to be applied.
Practical study of the diagnostic methods:
· Darsanam -observation
· Sparsanam - palpation.
· Prasnam - interview
· Nadi-pariksa. - pulse examination.
Extensive theoretical and practical learning about these diagnostic tools, especially with respect to:
· The pre-requisites for using these tools.
· The exact technique of using these tools.
· The limitations of these tools.
· The principals involved in inferring information by using these tools.
· Application of these tools during therapeutic intervention.
Practical study of Nadi pariksa.
Examination of muscle groups.
Examination of nervous system.
Examination of abdomen and abdominal organs
In the afternoon, the first and third hour will be on studying the methodology of examination in a workshop manner. The second and the fourth hour will be discussions based on examination done in the previous hour.
MODULE 3, 4, 5 & 6 will cover pathology and therapeutic yoga approach to various conditions and ailments affecting each mayā

SÃRĪRAKA CIKITSA
Conditions manifest predominantly at the physical constitution ( annamayā ), related to Sapta - dhātu-s. ( Chyle, Blood, Body tissues including muscles, nervous tissue, bone, bone marrow, reproductive tissue ) Skeleto - muscular system, joints, digestive system, obesity, etc.,
MODULE 4. (October 2023)
PRĀÑIKA CIKITSA : (Vāyu dysfunction)
Conditions manifest predominantly at the Pranamaya constitution ( Pranamaya ), relating to respiratory system & Cardio-vascular system, Urinary system and Lymphatic system
MODULE 5. (March 2024)
Conditions relating to the control systems : (nādi-s, Cakrā-s Dysfunction)
Nervous system, Endocrine system & Reproductive system (including pregnancy - pre & post natal care)
MODULE 6. (April 2024)
MANO & ĀDHYĀTMIKA CIKITSA:
Mental, emotional conditions, malignancy, auto-immune conditions, eating disorders, addictions, geriatric care.
INTERNSHIP (two weeks)
· Learning through observation and interaction.
· Observation of therapy classes conducted by senior therapists
· Observation of consultation sessions conducted by senior therapists
· Therapy classes conducted by the student under supervision of senior therapist
· Consultation sessions conducted by the student under supervision of senior therapist.

Dr. N. Chandrasekaran, MBBS Dr.N.Chandrasekaran, M.B.B.S., is one of the world’s most experienced yoga therapist, a western medical doctor, international trainer and author. In 2010 he founded the Yoga Vaidya Śālā after more than a decade heading the Yoga Therapy Department at the Krisnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) in Chennai. In that role he conducted consultations with more than 15,000 students, with a wide range of health problems, prescribing individual practices for each. Dr N.Chandrasekaran (Dr.N.C.) has been a practising allopathic medical physician for almost thirty years and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga in 1990.
